Landfill Community Fund

Landfill Community FundThe Landfill Community Fund (LCF, formerly the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme) was set up in 1996 to allow landfill operators to donate funds towards local community and environmental projects. The scheme is regulated by Entrust.

Legislation restricts the type of projects schemes can Fund. Funding can only be spent on projects falling under a number of approved ‘Objects’. For full details of the eligible ‘Objects’ please refer to the guidance notes below or the Entrust website.

A recent change to LCF is the inclusion of volunteering in selection criteria. Organisations distributing LCF have been instructed to give priority to projects that incorporate a youth (16-25 year old) volunteering element in their delivery.
