Photo of Horsefair PrecinctThis is an innovative project involving collaboration between Groundwork, the Forestry CommissionNatural England and Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.

The project is designed to progress the strategic development of trees and woodlands in the district. The pilot phase has now been completed and the delivery of “Treescapes” via the establishment of the Tree Action Partnership is currently being scoped. This approach will deliver a number of programmes for woodland development in the district and will include the introduction of Tree Wardens and will review ways to maximise and enhance Wakefield’s woodland resources.NewLeaf logo
