Blueprints

The "Blueprint" has been developed by Groundwork Wakefield, through the Housing Joint Venture.  The aim is to produce neighbourhood action plans that meet the needs of local residents. Each Blueprint is unique to each estate targeted.

Blueprint Future VisionThe process provides a community led approach to localised regeneration and includes community development and capacity building. A steering group from each estate is formed to oversee the development of the Blueprint which identifies a unique plan reflecting issues facing their neighbourhood.

Local partners, support agencies and other relevant groups are involved in the Blueprints. This ensures that duplication is avoided and helps to focus regeneration to maximise benefit.

The Blueprint supports a hierarchy of strategies for neighbourhood improvement from a local to national level. Of particular importance are "Families and Neighbourhoods" and the "Vision 2020", which both play a key role in defining the vision for the Wakefield District. The Blueprint provides a link between the objectives of both strategies and helps deliver them on the ground.

Programme Format
